The Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF) is the fastest way to settle your UK tax matters on the most favourable terms.
The LDF is based on an agreement between the UK and the Principality of Liechtenstein which is valid from September 1, 2009 to April 5, 2016. It offers UK tax subjects the possibility of settling their UK tax matters on particularly favourable terms.
LDF often cheaper than flat-rate withholding tax
In August 2011 Switzerland and the UK signed an outline agreement on a flat-rate withholding tax for untaxed funds. If initial statements are to be believed, this solution is likely to more expensive in a lot of cases than the LDF agreed between Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom. This fact sheet contains a comparison between the two tax solutions. For detailed information and to check your individual situation please consult your professional tax advisor.
LDF for existing and new clients
The LDF is available not only to UK tax subjects who have an existing business relationship with a Liechtenstein financial intermediary but also to new clients who establish a "meaningful relationship" with Liechtenstein.
